Tryouts
HMBR 2010 SEASON TRYOUT NOTICE
The schedules for the SATURDAY, MARCH 6TH FIELDING AND PITCHING TRYOUT and SUNDAY, MARCH 7TH HITTING tryouts below. Each player will attend two separate tryouts to be evaluated for both hitting and fielding. The Saturday tryouts will be held at Hopkins High School. Sunday’s hitting tryouts will be at Player's Only in Eden Prairie.
Specific times have been scheduled for different groups. Please double check the schedule to make sure that your player arrives with the correct group. We ask you make sure your child arrives on time to allow for registration and warm-up before beginning the tryout. If they are late, they will have no place to throw and this could adversely affect their tryout. It is the player’s responsibility to be on time. There will be an area for warm-ups, but the players will be responsible for their own warm up. Please encourage your athlete to properly stretch.
The Saturday tryout at Hopkins High school includes running, fly balls, grounders, and optional pitching. Players will need to bring a glove and athletic shoes. No spikes are allowed on either day since these are indoor facilities. Sunday’s tryout will focus on hitting, and each player will need a bat and helmet (Player’s Only has some helmets available for those who do not own one).
Parents will not be allowed to observe tryouts. At the Saturday, March 6th fielding tryout, parents will be allowed to wait inside in the commons area at Hopkins High School. Please have your child enter the high school at the main High School entrance (south of the building, not the Lindbergh entrance). Registration will be on the main level as you walk past the information desk. During the tryouts a HMBR representative will be available to answer questions about the season.

Your child will be done with their fielding tryout on March 6th approximately one hour and forty five minutes (1 hour and 45 minutes) after their specific registration time. We ask your understanding that we cannot give an exact time for completion and pick-up because of the nature of the day.
In regard to the hitting tryouts on March 7th at Player’s Only, your child will be done approximately 90 minutes after their registration time. Thank you so much for your consideration and patience.
All players need to tryout. In the event your child can not make the fielding and pitching tryout on March 6th or the hitting tryout on March 7th they need to contact Jon Gallop on or before February 28th at jongallop@aol.com to arrange an alternate time and place for the tryout.
